This Anchor Alliance Partner uses the following language when communicating about business opportunities.

Vendors: the businesses that provide the goods and services this institution needs. Once the vendor has registered with Miami-Dade County Public Schools, they are referred to as ‘Registered Vendors’.

Certified Vendors: these are vendors that are already registered and are certified as Micro/Small, Minority/Women or Veteran Business Enterprises. 

Invitation to Bid (ITB): a notification detailing the goods and/or services Miami-Dade County Public Schools is planning to purchase. These often include important information that a vendor needs to know in order to fulfill this request. The terms ‘Solicitation’ or ‘Bid Solicitation’ are also used and refer to the same thing.

Request for Proposal (RFP): the responses the institution has received from businesses for the solicitations it has posted. The terms ‘Bids’ and ‘Proposals’ are also used and refer to the same thing. 

Procurement: refers to both the department and the process of handling all purchases and relationships with vendors.  Procurement is handled through Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ Procurement Management Services.

Get Ready To Do Business

Register

Start by registering as a vendor by downloading and completing the vendor application form.

  • Note: Question 13 on the vendor application asks for Category Codes. Refer to this list to identify the appropriate code for the goods and services your small business offers.

Completed vendor applications should be submitted to vendors@dadeschools.net or can be faxed or mailed to the address provided on the application.

Special Certifications

Certain small businesses may be eligible for certifications that help them be more competitive as vendors. Examples include minority-owned or women-owned business certifications, or certifications for businesses located within designated zones.

Many anchor partners accept certifications from other entities and/or offer their own certification program. See below for information on the certification this institution works with and how to get your business certified.

Additionally, when you complete one of the Small Business Enterprise Certifications, you will receive bid opportunities directly via email.
