This Anchor Alliance Partner uses the following language when communicating about business opportunities.

Vendor: these are the businesses that register with this institution to provide the goods and services it needs. ‘Vendors’ is sometimes used interchangeably with ‘Suppliers’.

Bidding Opportunities: a notification detailing the goods and/or services Broward Health is planning to purchase. These often include important information that a vendor needs to know in order to fulfill the request. ‘Bidding Opportunities’ may also be called ‘Solicitations’.

Bids or Proposals: the responses the institution has received from businesses for the bidding opportunities it has posted. The business submitting the bid is called the bidder

Informal Bid: Bids for goods and services totaling under $100,000.

Formal Bid: Bids for goods and services totaling more than $100,000. Formal bids are posted as RFQs or RFPs (see below).

RFQ: A formal bid that is awarded to the lowest bidder/business offering the lowest price while meeting all pre-established criteria.

RFP: A formal bid that will require an evaluation by a selection committee (based on an established scoring criteria) before being awarded.

Procurement: the process of handling all purchases and relationships with supplier/vendors/bidders. Procurement is handled through Broward Health’s Vendor Relations Department.

Get Ready To Do Business

Register

Start by registering on Broward Health’s Vendor Registration website.

Step 1: View the Vendor Orientation Presentation. You can also sign up for the next virtual orientation session, if available.

Step 2: Complete and submit the vendor registration application via Broward Health’s Vendor Registration System (VRS).

Special Certifications

Certain small businesses may be eligible for certifications that help them be more competitive as vendors. Examples include minority-owned or women-owned business certifications, or certifications for businesses located within designated zones.

Many anchor partners accept certifications from other entities and/or offer their own certification program. See below for information on the certification this institution works with and how to get your business certified.

Broward Health offers a Diverse Vendor Certification. In order to be recognized as a Broward Health Certified Diverse Vendor (CDV), your business must have completed its vendor registration via Broward Health’s Vendor Registration System and ensured that a current business certificate/document, issued by one of Broward Health’s approved certification partners (below), has been uploaded.

How to find new opportunities

Once you register via Broward Health’s Vendor Registration System, you will receive notifications for business opportunities via email.

Note: Notification emails will arrive based on the product and/or service codes you select for your business at the time of registration. To ensure you receive all applicable opportunities for your business, ensure that the product/service codes in your application are accurate.
