We asked Lydia a few questions about being a small business owner in Miami. Check out her responses below:

What is the origin story of your business?

Before I was born, my family moved from Haiti in search of a better way of life. Yet, the worries followed. I saw some family members develop bad spending habits and complain about money, but I saw prosperity and wealth at school. I had access to different worlds - and it was my call to decide which one I wanted for myself. I founded my business to help my clients choose the world they want to live in through their actions and mindset. My purpose is to help my clients have a healthier relationship with their finances, teach them to spend wisely, and help them attract more money by being strategic with their business and life decisions.

What is your best piece of advice for fellow business owners?

Do the right thing, all the time – meaning don’t take shortcuts just because it seems easier. Have contracts even if you think “but this is family”. Do right by the people you work with (employees, clients/customers, vendors, etc.) You never know who might hire you or connect you with your ideal customer.

What was an opportunity that really helped you and your business?

COVID, believe it or not, was an opportunity to challenge myself and re-organize my firm and how my team serves our clients.

What is a major business challenge that you overcame?

Feeling like I had to do everything on my own and that I could never afford employees. Until one day, I figured if I am going to grow, I need to have support, and it's been great ever since.
