Information you’ll need to provide

  • Social security number or proof that you’ve applied for one.
  • Income information such as job, child support or any other sources.
  • Resource or asset information such as checking, savings accounts, vehicles, homes, land or life insurance.
  • Housing expenses such as rent or utilities.
  • Health insurance information.

Helpful tips

  • Be prepared to wait. Applications may take up to 30 days to process. 
  • Consider going paperless. Signing up for email alerts will allow you to receive case status updates via email. If you prefer paper, you will receive your notices by mail. 
  • Other services are also available through Access Florida. You can get help buying food, low or no-cost health care, and help paying Medicare Premiums. 
  • Cash assistance is limited to a lifetime total of 48 months (4 years).
