The Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Emergency Grant program is intended to provide interim financial assistance to qualified painters, printmakers, and sculptors whose needs are the result of an unforeseen, catastrophic incident, and who lack the resources to meet that situation.

Benefits

  • One-time assistance for a specific hardship, including emergency medical need
  • Grants of up to $15,000; average grant size is $5,000

Eligibility

  • Applicants must work in the disciplines of painting, sculpture or printmaking
  • Applicants must demonstrate a minimum involvement of 10 years in a mature phase of their work
  • Recipients of this grant must wait one year after receiving their grant before they are eligible to reapply
  • Applicants who have previously received an Individual Support grant three times or more are no longer eligible to apply for this grant program

Requirements

  • Any documents that support your emergency situation claim
  • Documentation of your losses/expenses
  • A copy of your most recently completed tax return
  • A CV or artist resume
  • Three professional references that are familiar with at least ten years of your work
  • If your application is based on a medical situation you must complete a release form that will allow your medical provider to speak with a representative at the Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Foundation
