$10,000 Grant for Women-Owned Businesses Looking to Grow

BMO Harris Bank wants to award 15 women-owned businesses $10,000 in grant funding to help them grow and achieve greater success.

When to apply:

As soon as possible. Applications are due May 14, 2024.

You should apply if you

Have a for-profit business at least 51% owned or controlled by women or by individuals who self-identify as women.

Are a registered for-profit business with an annual revenue of $5 million or less.

Have a physical location (or mailing address) in Florida and are in good standing/operation with the state.

Are actively operating and selling a product or service for at least two years as of April 1, 2024.

Information you’ll need to provide

  • First, complete the eligibility form to see if you qualify for this grant program.
  • Basic personal information like your full name, email address, date of birth, and phone number.
  • Basic demographic information like your gender, ethnicity and race.
  • Information about your business, like its name, website, social media, logo, etc.
  • Short-form answers to questions about how you want to grow your business in the next 12 months and how you will grow your business specifying tools, partnerships, marketing, etc., the challenges you face as a business owner, and how you would use the $10,000 grant if awarded.

Helpful tips

  • You can start the application and finish it later as long as it is before May 14, 2024.
  • You do not have to be a BMO customer to apply for this program.
  • If selected to be a semi-finalist for this grant program, you must submit a video; use this link to review the Video Submission Information document.
  • Semi-finalists will be notified in early June, finalists in late July, and grant recipients in late August. They will then be announced in late September.
  • Below is the scoring rubric judges will use to grade your application. You must earn an average score of more than 75 points to be a finalist or grand prize winner.
    • Review of how the Applicant wants to grow the Eligible Small Business: 35%
    • Review of the quantifiable business growth goal(s) in the next 12 months: 20%
    • Review of the challenges that may be faced by the Eligible Small Business as it embarks on business growth: 25%
    • Review of how the Eligible Small Business would use a $10,000 Grant to help achieve growth: 20%
