Up to $35,000 Interest-Free Down Payment Assistance for Homebuyers in Miami-Dade County

Apply for an interest-free loan to cover the down payment to purchase your first home.

When to apply:

No deadline, on-going program.

You should apply if you

Are a resident of Miami-Dade County and are purchasing your first home. 

Make less than the program income limits. Click here and select the size of your household to view income limits.

Are able to provide 1% of the purchase price from your own funds for the down payment.

Agree to complete a HUD-certified First Time Homebuyer Education course for each individual listed on the mortgage loan application. 

How to get started

Reach out to a mortgage lender of your choosing to secure a 30-year mortgage loan.

Provide this website to your mortgage lender and let them know you are interested in applying for this program.

Review this list to find a HUD-certified Homebuyer Counseling Agency to complete the required First Time Homebuyer Education course and receive your certificate.

Information you’ll need to provide

  • A copy of your First-Time Homebuyer Education course certificate. 
  • Documents and requirements will vary by mortgage lender.

Helpful tips

  • Your mortgage lender will be heavily involved in the application process for this program. They will need to complete an application, as well. The loan requirements will vary depending on the lender you choose for your mortgage.
  • This down payment assistance does not have to be repaid if you remain in the home for at least 6 years. If you sell the home before this timeframe you will have to repay in the following increments: 100% if sold within 1-3 years, 50% is sold between 4-6 years, 0% after 6 years.
